1-25-12- Extra Storm Images

Very strong storms in The Woodlands, TX area this morning (close to Houston). My morning meetings were delayed because of the threat of severe weather. Checking the radar and the conditions outside, it looked like I had about 30 minutes before it hit. I set up my camera facing the storm and started capturing images. The wind picked up, temperature dropped immediately and mammatus clouds began to form. That is a sure sign of a powerful storm. It is a little scary being out there, but I love it. I have been doing this long enough that I feel I can read the situation pretty well. I posted my favorite on my Clouds 365 project site 1-25-12. I had a hard time choosing. Any of these could have been picked, so I wanted to share them with you. Hope you like. Would love to hear what you think.

1-16-12 – Sunset Extra Images

Beautiful sunset in Frisco, Texas last night. I think it is amazing how many shots you can take in a 30 minute period. I posted my favorite last night, 1-16-12. Here are 5 extras I could have easily picked to feature. It was overcast for most of the day, then the sun the sun peeked out and turned the clouds yellow. Shortly after, the sky was every color imaginable. What a beautiful sight! Hope you like these. Please click on the images below to enlarge!

November 2011 Extra Images

I finally had a chance this morning to go through all of the images I took in November to organize, backup and archive. In the process, I picked out 15 extra images that I did not use for one of my daily posts on Clouds 365 Project – Year 3. It was a beautiful month for clouds. Hope you enjoy these extra images from last month. CLICK ON IMAGES BELOW TO ENLARGE Let me know what you think

Slow Down and Look Up!

I have been photographing clouds everyday for a while now, currently on Year 3. I have learned so much doing this project, everything from what every function on my camera does, social marketing, publishing and copyright to recognizing weather patterns and cloud types. The best part of this project is – it forces me to slow down and look up. It makes me put down my phone, get off my computer, get outside and notice the things that I took for granted for so long. I think this is even more important now that it ever has been. I wish this for everyone.

October 2011 Extra Images

It took me 3 hours to go through all of the images for October to select a few images I did not use for Year 3. I ended up with 16 extra image to share. October was interesting, because it had a little bit of everything – fog, sun dog (from the air), colorful sunsets, trip to Boston and the need to be really creative (October usually is the month where there are a few days with no clouds. Happened 4 times).

Here are the extra images. Hope you like them, let me know what you think. CLICK on images below to enlarge

John Grisham + Clouds 365 Project

I am very excited to announce that my image (from Year 2 of the project) “6-15-11 | Chicago Skyline After Rain” is on the cover of the new John Grisham book “The Litigators” UK Release.

Publishers, Hodder & Stoughton revealed the hardback jacket today on their website.

This is one of my favorite days from the project. Stephanie and I took a sunset boat tour while visiting Chicago last summer. It was pouring. We were not convinced that it would let up, but we headed out anyway. Huddled up, cold and soaked from the rain a hour later when it finally stopped. The boat turned around to head back. I watch the beautiful skyline clear just in time to get the shot. Glad we stayed :)

UK customers can order their copy of “The Litigators” from Amazon UK or waterstones.com
