After much discussion with my friends and family, it is my pleasure to announce that I am going to continue photographing clouds everyday for another 365 days! - Clouds 365 Project – Year 2
What an amazing journey. Honestly, I could not walk away from this if I tried! When I started this project almost a year ago, I dedicated the Clouds 365 project to Art, Learning, Determination, Process, Pattern and Obsession. (Check out the About page to learn more.) In year 2, the project is also dedicated to Community—because I could not have done this without YOU. Over the year, I have met some wonderful people from all over the world. The support and the feedback you give me everyday, without fail, is humbling. I can’t thank you enough. You made me be my best every day!
Year 1 of Clouds 365 Project will end a week from today. We’ll celebrate it together for a day, but then I turn around and start YEAR 2 on July 1st!
The future is very bright for the Clouds 365 Community as well. In honor of the important role all of you play in the project, we will launch a new Community site soon—a site that will helps us grow. You will be able to edit your own profile, password, images, etc. The site will include groups, internal communication and tutorials so we can get to know one another better while we expand our knowledge of clouds and how to document them.
Special thanks to my wife Stephanie and my girls for their help though this year and encouragement to continue this wonderful project. Thanks to my friends Manny, Misty, Justin, Nicco and Laurie. You are always there for me
Watch for more information in the coming days on future plans for the Clouds 365 project. I’ll also be sharing some insights from the past year as I look back at what I have learned so far.
Thanks again to all of you cloud lovers. See you for another year!

Thanks Toby!

)
Great, looking forward to year 2!
whooo hooo! i may have to break down and get a new camera.
That announcement is so awesome! This project … year … has been quite an adventure for you I can tell … and the rest of us have so enjoyed being along for the ride. So glad your vision and sharing will continue for yet another year. More people need to look up … more often … in my humble opinion and you’ve helped to inspire thousands to do this. You should be feeling pretty good about that : )… Congrats on the completion of an amazing year and best of wishes as you begin to embark on another year’s journey … Who knows what this year … journey … may bring. : )
All the best! Peace and Love … ~Isa
I just knew this project for a week.
All the photos are very nice.
Thanks a lot for your effort.
Looking forward to see your photos since 1st July.
Awesome!! I only stumbled upon Clouds 365 back in January or February. It has kept me looking up ever since:) I have always loved clouds and photographing them, just didn’t have a “community” to share them with. I am so excited about the 2nd year and the new community stuff. It is incredible how many people you have inspired, Kelly! Myself included. A few things I have learned so far: 1) It is not a good idea to check out the clouds when you are cruising at 80 mph on I-10 on the way to/from work. 2) There are WAAAAYYYY too many power and telephone lines. 3) I am passionate about photography. 4) Persistence and patience usually pay off in spades. The list goes on, but you get the idea. THANK YOU!!! You and your clouds are just terrific!!
Looking so forward to the next 365!
Namaste ~ Debbie
Congratulations on beginning year 2. Your project brings me joy everyday!
Hello! Mr. Kelly!!
Though I joined late in the clouds project a month ago and was worried, what you will do after competion of one year. Thanks once again you continued for another year. It has been a part and partial of my life and every day gazing at sky, finding new clouds and patterns became an interesting job.Best of luck for the future projects to come and please feel free to entrust anykind of work for the project which I will be loving to do. Best wishes…:)

10 minutes ago · Like…(Joanne Mt Smith) Read ur AGENDA 4 the nxt yr… & it does, indeed, sound Xciting!!! ;D
YAH-FREAKIN-HOOOOOOO! I am glad Kelly because even though it must take so much time, you have unselfishly made the commitment to carry on for another year. Do you even realize how many more people you will have looking skyward by the time the next year is over? Its worth it not to have Bubba back yet, (all to myself) because this has give him new life and joy. I guess I wont take his camera away, even though he DOES stop in the middle of the freeway, take the long way home from work, and show up in the strangest places just to GET THAT SHOT! Thank you for helping us all LOOK UP, UP UP!!!!!! And thank your wife and family, for sharing you, with all of us.
Thanks again. I have read all of your comments over and over again, they are all so meaningful. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know your thoughts!
Thank you!!! I just started following you not to long ago. What great news on my birthday!!!
Love the site & the comradeship of the community. I look forward to each day & the ever changing canvas in the sky. It is such an adventure that is non polluting….well except for the jaunts from one favorite vista to another (Got to walk more). It will be such a pleasure to continue to see the photos from around the world. It opens a door of understanding & true mean of beauty along with need for persistence in it’s pursuit.
Love the fact the comments have spell check:)
I also agree with Debbie on points 1 & 2…. soooooo true!!!!!!! I’ve had my son comment more than once… “LOOK at the Road… not at the clouds” and really those power lines are very pesky.
I wholeheartedly support year 2 and look forward to many more wonderful shots from you and the community at large.
Kelly, This is great news. I have enjoyed your pictures as well as those from the community around the world. I have always enjoyed taking pictures. However, I am now looking more to the sky. Even my sister gets involved now. Looking forward to more amazing spectacular beautiful clouds. Thanks again for starting this project and taking us all along with you.
you will need a vacation after the next year, dont worry the community will be there to upload while you are sipping margaritas somewhere!
love this site, view it everyday
you should consider a clouds365 store, with bumper stickers, tshirts, and maybe you can make a 365 screen saver for download, there is a site i use called http://www.e-junkie.com that processes digital files for sale. ($9.00 per month) would be nice if it cycled through all of your photos for the 1st year
also, i always go out after work and shoot – i jump on my vespa and look for something to share, its really inspiring, and its addictive. thanks!
Bravo!!!
Thank you for a wonder-filled year. Love the qualities you framed and brought to mind each day. Your quiet constancy has been as comforting in times of tumult as the loftiness of clouds has been uplifting.
Thank you, Kelly and family, for being willing to renew your commitment to having us look up through your lens for another year.
Thanks again everyone for your comments!
William – I hear you, I need a vacation! I am leaving at the end of next week for Yellowstone and Jackson Hole. I could not go and NOT share it with the clouds community
You read my mind. I am working on a store that will include “cloud watcher” bumper stickers, camera straps, limited edition prints, etc… and eventually a book at the end of this year.
Glad this is a inspiration to you and others.. means the world to me!
Thank you for a wonderful year. Although I did not contribute many pictures, I did look every day and hope to contribute more as I learn from all the wonderful phtographers here. I am delighted you are going to continue.
Kelly? I love what you have done with Clouds365 ~ it has become a daily obsession for me!! Even if I don’t take a photo – I just enjoy the work of you & other’s around the world. Over the years here in Australia I have photographed storms & sunsets – now I nearly get rub over looking for clouds!! God bless – can’t wait for year 2
