This is absolutely breath-taken. I looks as if the earth and the clouds are coming together as one with only a small hiding place in between. Magnificent work of art and photography. This is definitely one of my favorites. Great work!
I was there in late April and really wished I had clouds like that; I used to frequent the Grand Canyon a lot when I lived closer to it. Amazing clouds and at night during sunset – great stuff! I picked a day it snowed on me during sunset, but not many clouds in the sky!

Early morning or late evening – good timing for horizontal lighting and dramatic contrasts. Enhances the terrain, reaches under the cloud deck to pick out bright spots of cliff faces far across the canyon. And the wings of cloud with the blue gap between give the impression that the canyon doesn`t stop at the rim, but rises up into the heavens. Epic.

It looks like a knock out punch at 12 o’clock! WOW! Can’t wait to see more! Last time I went to the GC the clouds lowered and it snowed. That was pretty nice but we lost the view of the canyon.
You really captured a special moment at the Canyon. You had the timing and the eye
No doubt this is a great shot of the GC. I have seen it many times for the ground and the air going to work in as a helicopter pilot. Your shot is not unique as it is an exception as to what is going on in the GC and coal burning power plants. Lucky you after a rain.
